About Dr. Adams

Dr. Adams is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who completed his residency in Orthopedic Surgery with honors at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Adams then completed his training in the only advanced shoulder arthroscopy fellowship in the country under the direction of world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, Stephen S. Burkhart, MD.

Dr. Adams is a national expert in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder. Specialties include sports medicine, arthroscopic shoulder surgery and injuries involving the rotator cuff, labrum, instability, biceps, AC joint, impingement and arthritis.

An expert in both non-operative and operative treatment of all shoulder problems, Dr. Adams has received many honors including the Arthroscopy Journal Twenty Top-Cited Articles Published from 2008 to 2011, the Mayo Clinic Fund of Knowledge Award in 2006 and the Dr. Benjamin E. and Lila Obletz Award for Outstanding Performance in Orthopedic Surgery in 2001.

Dr. Adams has had numerous publications and is focused on exceptional patient care, research and teaching. Dr. Adams was born and raised outside of Buffalo, New York and has lived in Rochester, Minnesota, San Antonio, Texas, Jupiter and Naples, Florida. He has the distinct honor of being the Director of Medical Education for Arthrex in Naples and an orthopedic consultant for the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball (MLB) organization.
